I ran at the Harriers on and off over a number of years. Barry never asked me where I’d been, he treated me as though I’d never been away. in all the time I knew Barry I can’t remember a time he wasn’t smiling. He was a kind hearted person, a great coach and most importantly, a great friend. We spent many a time walking around the cinder track and later the synthetic track just talking. Great times I will never forget
